From age’s childhood to 15, I knew mostly a very high level of health and energy. While I was finicky, I never had constipation once. I was cheerful and full of energy. How Food Derived Sodium May be Essential to Decalcifying Unhealthfully Calcified Tissues

Under the right chemistry conditions the body is programed to heal itself of anything. The late Dr. Bernard Jensen D.C. maintained that with a diet that had high amounts of sodium rich foods in the diet, you could bring unhealthfully deposited calcium back into solution for excretion or proper utilization. He maintained you could remove bone spurs and calcium deposits in the joints in 12 months on this diet. He would put the person on an organic diet and added to their diet, high sodium foods, broths, juices and distilled water. High sodium foods would be beets, celery, spinach, tomatoes, chard, and goat’s whey.

What’s The Difference Between Sodium and Salt?

Realize that food derived sodium is not the same as sodium chloride, salt. Salt is entirely different in its effect on your body. The most well documented nutrient for proper calcium utilization is Vitamin K2. This mighty vitamin is responsible for activating the Matrix GLA protein. My Search Continues

Having used most every diet to correct all of my challenges I had to continue my search using supplementation. I finally learned that mercury was the possible culprit in all of this and decided to do the DMPS Urine challenge test. The first DMPS shot showed off the chart high levels of mercury in my body.

I began this mercury detoxification in 1998 DMPS is a man made sulfur rich amino acid. It is very aggressive at removing mercury from the body, but does not remove it from the brain. I took one 5 cc shot per month for 4 months. Then in the 5th month I switched over to taking DMSA another man made sulfur rich amino acid that is also very aggressive at removing mercury. DMSA is able to go into the brain and help remove the mercury therein. I took large dosages of DMSA once per month. It has been a very long time since I did this but I recall taking 3 grams of DMSA once per month for 5 months. In the 5th month of taking DMSA and the 9th month of my mercury detox program, my bowels began moving 75% normal for the first time in 24 years.

DMPS and DMSA were forcing a lot of mercury to come out through my kidneys. The body is designed to prefer to remove mercury through the liver bile, which enters into the intestines for elimination. So sending out a lot of mercury through the kidneys caused me even more fatigue than I already had with my Chronic Fatigue Diagnosis. I would be tired for 4 weeks after each dose. So once my bowels started working somewhat more normally I switched over to natural chelators.

The first I tried was NCD short for Nano Colloidal Detox factors. It was very expensive at $400 for a small bottle of I believe only 1 to 2 ounces. This product was simply chlorella that had been predigested by bacteria into smaller more absorbable particles. I took one bottles worth and got no noticeable results. Very quickly I surmised this product to be a rip off for the price and effectiveness. Years later I tried another nanonized chlorella now called HM Detox that was only $28.00 for 8 ounces. It too produced no noticeable results and urine challenge tests with it, showed no increase in Mercury excretion.

Next I took PCA Rx and did experience this to produce some signs of detoxification. Because the detoxification results were interfering with my productivity I discontinued this product. So while this may be an effective product there was something else I needed to remain productive while on it.

Next I tired Andrew Culter’s protocol of DMSA in 100 mg dosages taken every few hours even waking up at night to take more along with Alpha Lipoic Acid. I did this for a few months. Because of the extreme fatigued caused in my body from taking DMSA and that fragility to my kidneys, I did not feel overly confident to continue to take DMSA. So I discontinued this. Plus in Andrew’s book I recall him saying this protocol would take 2 to 4 years to remove the majority of mercury from the body. I felt that I was a slow detoxifier and that I would be in the 4 or more year category. So I could not see myself continuing to take something that would stress my kidneys and add to my fatigue that was already a major problem. I already had adrenal fatigue and an Epstein Barr Viral infection that is known to cause Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

Next I tried Chlorella, which is a cellulose rich algae protein. It’s cellulose stays in the intestines and is able to attach to mercury and remove it from the body. It is a mild chelator of mercury. Make sure the source of your chlorella has been assayed by the company that puts it out and shows that it does not contain any heavy metals. One person in an article I read said that the particular chlorella they analyzed showed the following: “I had Chlorella analyzed for minerals twice, 8 years apart and found quite a bit of mercury in it. The second time, arsenic was the primary and mercury, the second offender. No wonder the excretion went up on the urine collections! The more Chlorella taken, the more mercury was recovered: coming from the product itself!”^[4]

Next I started taking a product called Mercury Magnet. I took Mercury Magnet in conjunction with Chlorella and saw even more come out in my stools than with Mercury Magnet alone. Since Mercury Magnet and Chlorella powder cause mercury elimination via the stools it was important to do stool testing for this purpose. So with these favorable results I continued to use Mercury Magnet and Chlorella for years. I could not go onto Mercury Magnet for more than 3 days in a row without feeling a mental fog and consequent unproductive state that it created. So I’d get 2 to 3 days of mercury detox then rest for a few days.

In my practice I saw several excellent case history results from using Mercury Magnet. One was a woman in Canada whose son that had Asperger’s was improved by 90% while taking Mercury Magnet. I saw my brother after the 3rd day get such a strong detox of mercury that he got a high fever and very sick for a week. This was due to the fact that his liver was not working well for detoxification and so the downloaded mercury was not exiting fast enough. Another client reported: I began taking Mercury Magnet and Chlorella, about 45days ago and I am now walking down 19 stairs as I did prior to the MS diagnosis! Frequently, I am able to stand for hours and walk unassisted, without a cane!! – Mercury Magnet and Chlorella — August 2004. So with these kinds of results I stuck with Mercury Magnet and Chlorella for a number of years.

Next I tried Cilantro. Cilantro has earned the reputation of being able to remove mercury and heavy metals based upon the observations of Dr. Yoshiaki Omura, President and Founder of the International College of Acupuncture & Electro-Therapeutics and Director of Medical Research of the Heart Disease Research Foundation. In 1995, Omura observed that subjects had higher than normal levels of mercury in their urine after consuming Vietnamese soup, which has large amounts of cilantro (also called “Chinese parsley”). He followed up on this accidental finding and discovered that giving cilantro to patients with mercury poisoning for several weeks successfully eliminated the toxin from the body.^[5] I was not impressed with changes in my health with taking Cilantro so I discontinued it.

Every so often I would do another DMSA Urine challenge test. The results still showed lots of mercury coming out.

Next I tired Natural Cellular Defense Zeolite. This product had impressive results to back it up and I took this on and off for 1 to 2 years. At this point because I’m getting only minor changes to my functioning, I’m figuring that I’ve gotten most of the mercury out of my body. But in an effort to continue to find what is best for my clients, I continue to learn and try products offering better results.

Next I found and took the Quick Sliver Labs protocol of products, which consisted of: IMD (Intestinal Metals Detox), Liposomal Glutathione, Clear Way Co-Factors and some ascorbic acid. IMD (Intestinal Metals Detox) uses insoluble thiol (sulfur groups) bound to silica (sand) to bind and remove heavy metals accumulated in the intestines and to directly quench free-radicals. IMD Binds mercury and other heavy metals in the intestines and escorts these harmful contaminants out of the body. The emphasis here is that, once the mercury is removed from the intestines then the inflammation can go away in the intestines and then this leads to signaling the rest of the body that it is safe to release mercury and all toxins from the tissues. Liposomal Glutathione may have been helpful but was barely noticeable to me and was $70 for 4 ounces at retail. Clients I put on this costly protocol did not report back positive results and some people would not reorder. Indicating that no results were being experienced.

Along the way I also tried NAC and Cysteine. These are both amino acids needed by the body to turn on Glutathione production. Articles I’ve read indicate that NAC is more effective than Cysteine. I’ve used both and found them to be only mildly helpful.

Now after having tried all of these, I consider them all either mild chelators of mercury, or good chelators of mercury but they do not support the livers job of filtering out the circulating mercury.
